The CUF Tactical Medic Thigh Rig by OnPoint Tactical Gear. Ready for the fatal funnel.

The CUF Kit (Care Under Fire) Tactical Medic Thigh Rig has been issued US Patent D,516,305 Contact us to license this patent.

When On Point Tactical Gear's founder, Mike Silverman, set out to design a thigh pouch for tactical medics, he drew on the best experience he knew of - his own. As a medic for the last 17 years, Mike knew how generally lousy the medic bags on the market are. So he designed his own. The result is the CUF Tactical Medic Thigh Rig, designed by a medic for medics.

Made from durable 1000D Cordura nylon with oil resistant polypropylene webbing and quality quick release buckles for durability. The zipper has silent pulls. Designed from the ground up - by and for medics. The CUF Kit line is designed from the ground up as a medic system. We didn't take an infantry bag or flight kit, strap a couple elastic loops in it and call it a medic bag. We started from the best place possible - the suggestions on TEMS operators.

We went through countless revisions, several sewn protoypes, and then we put our bags to the test - we sent the protoypes to soldiers and Marines to test in Iraq and Kuwait, SWAT medics to test in CQB environments, and corrections specialists to try in jails. What we ended up with was a solid, tested design that has the features REAL medics need. Not "market research" people, not "product design teams" - medics. Plain and simple. Special jobs call for special features. The CUF Kit has certain features built in. Since some are a bit more "subtle" we figured we'd show them to you.
  • "Blood Bucket Design" The "Blood Bucket Design" (patented) is a feature unique to our medic bags. Simply, the design creates a side bellows in the bag that enables the medic to open the bag while kneeling without having all of your gear fall out on the ground. Additionally, when combined with the Bail Out Band, you can quickly exit an area if it gets a bit nasty without having to zip up your bag - and without having all your gear fall out while you run. The insides of the bucket bellows have slots for IV catheters, tweezers, hemostats, etc...
  •  "The Bail Out Band" The Bail Out Band (patented) is another unique feature in the CUF Kit. This band, combined with the Blood Bucket Design, holds your bag closed when the zipper is still completely open! This enables the medic to not only get into the bag with one hand, but completely open it in under one second! The Bail Out Band is self-stowing with a small piece of Velcro on the underside of the band, and easily closed because the whole top panel of the main bag is Velcro loop - no aiming for small buckles or fiddling with zippers. The entire thing can be done with a single gloved hand. Flexible Mounting Options Most medic rigs can be worn one way and one way only. That's great, unless the way the manufacturer designed isn't the way you'd like to wear it.
  • Our bag is different in that you can wear it in three different ways.
    • 1. The stock way to wear the rig is as a drop-leg. With soft, wide elastic on the thigh strap and a durable polypropylene hanger strap, this rig is built to last. The buckles on the thigh strap are run completely through the back of the bag, so you won't get the same kind of seam strain seen on other bags. In fact, the thigh strap is even field replaceable, adding value to you and making the bag a better long-term investment.
    • 2. The second mount is as a belt rig. We placed durable polypropylene webbing on the back of the bag so that you can mount it right on your belt using either MOLLE/PALS or ALICE attachments. The thigh rig and hanger strap can be FULLY STOWED - without the thigh strap buckles dangling! Simply click the quick release buckles off, snap the thigh rig buckles back to one another, and the bag has a completely flat back for a slim, sleek fit.
    • 3. The third mount is as a vest mounted pouch. Simply disconnect the hanger and thigh straps and use the ALICE strap, 550 cord, or zip ties to put it right on your assault vest. Flexible Load Plans Our bag is designed to meet YOUR needs.
The interior is lined with smooth, durable 400D pack nylon and is just large enough to hold 1000cc bags of IV fluid. In fact, the bag can hold two full liters of fluid with start sets, catheters, etc... Prefer an airway module? No sweat - the bag will hold slightly curved ET tubes, blades, handles, or stylets. Want to go to trauma mode? This bag can handle that, too with enough room for pretty much any dressing, valve, or strap currently on the market. In fact, there aren't many things we haven't been able to fit into the bag.

Your care, your load, our design - they go together well.

Intelligent Outer Pouch Plan

We think that a bag is useless if you have to raid through the whole thing to get at any of your stuff. So we designed this bag to have an inside/outside pouch plan. The left front pouch holds MK-4 sized sprays, Sure-Fire, UK, and Streamlight flashlights, or other tall slender things. We actually ran Velcro down the entire pouch for flexibility in item selection, which means the flap can be closed ANYWHERE on the front of the pouch, not just at the top or bottom.

The right pouch is designed to hold magazines (shown with 3 .45 ACP S&W mags but 20 round M4 mags fit well too), trauma dressings, small pocket masks, airways, etc... Both pouches are fully padded, including the tops, to protect your gear from damage. The back of the pouch features two slots large enough to hold trauma shears, penlights, Sharpie markers, etc... And they sit down low enough to allow the hanger strap to block the stuff from snagging on door frames, furniture, corners, etc...
